Autumnal Projects

Early October. Every year, with the shift to Autumn and the changing of the leaves, I start to think of all the projects I’ve not completed. A list of long term efforts that I committed to making progress on back during the depths of winter, or the entirely new ones that I’ve added to my ever growing list. With the last few months of the year falling around me and carried eastward on the wind, October is when I think of what I can finish.

Too many of my projects languish. Even with the next three months free of ‘work’ (replaced by a more time intensive ‘project’ that is the definition of long-term), there’s no way I can complete them all. But I’m chipping away.

31Falls continues. The photography project I started over a decade ago for distraction, is now at 64% complete.

My Mayor book has finally, after too many years, reached a complete first draft. Now to edit and figure out how to publish.

Already started on a new book. A return to fiction (after the novel no one will ever read and the novella I need to find a place for) and hopefully it will continue to fall into place as well as it has so far!

Autumn is a good time for projects, especially those I can work on while an infant sleeps in my arms like this very moment.
